With the intention of joining forces for the growth of both organizations, Habitat for Humanity Chile and Habitat for Humanity Paraguay signed an agreement on February 15th 2009, in Santiago, Chile. Through this, they formed an alliance that has the following principles: innovative exchange of work strategies; dialogue about the political housing; the cooperation of country programs and the mobilization of resources.
Since 1985, the General Assembly of the United Nations has designated World Habitat Day as the first Monday in month of October with the objective of calling attention to the growing population and the inadequate living conditions that millions of people suffer from, located all around the world.
Habitat for Humanity Paraguay has recently created a project which will give support to the teachers of Paraguay. The objective is to bring technical and financial assistance to the teachers; enabling these families to either build a new home or to improve the living conditions of their current home.
The houses of three families will finish soon thanks to the partnership of Habitat for Humanity Paraguay and several local companies: Gas Corona, JF Cacavelos and Record Electric. We visit these families to share their experiences:
