HABITAT PARA LA HUMANIDAD Y ALIADOS LLEVAN ESPERANZAS A ARROYOS Y ESTEROS
February 1, 2012- While the construction materials were arriving to the Barrio Virgen del Carmen in Arroyos y Esteros, the families from the community gathered this morning at the Community Center to give the groundbreaking of the 10 houses. Those houses will be built during the month of February, as part of the project “For the Future of our Children”. The initiative has joined as allies as: the Dequení Foundation, SENAVITAT, Parents Committee and the Municipality.
"Unity is strength” and although this is a well known phrase here so I couldn’t find a better way to describe what we have here today”, said Mr.Heinrich Friesen, President of Habitat for Humanity Paraguay. Maria Angelica Fernandez, Director of the SENAVITAT represented the Minister to congratulate the families and organizations involved.
On behalf of the families spokeDon Santiago Mendoza y Don BasilioSantacruz who is the president of the Parents Committee. Both thank with great emotion on behalf of the community. They said "thank you, it's big what is coming to us, it is a dream that we couldn’t do it alone."
Also atended the meeting the Amabassador of Habitat for Humanity Paraguay, Pelusa Rubin, who after explaining to the people about her mision of to promote the cause of adequate housing with Habitat for Humanity Paraguay, said “ the important thing here is to make, a child does country, hopefully we can improve every home that the country needs”.
Although the works in Arroyos y Esteros are already in progress, the community still needs financial resources and labor to reach the proposed goal of 120 families.
On Saturday February 11, Habitat invites volunteers to collaborate as construction workers for a day. The brigade of 30 people will be helping in the transport of construction materials.
