| ALLIANCE FORMED BETWEEN HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CHILE AND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PARAGUAY |
| With the intention of joining forces for the growth of both organizations, Habitat for Humanity Chile and Habitat for Humanity Paraguay signed an agreement on February 15th 2009, in Santiago, Chile. Through this, they formed an alliance that has the following principles: innovative exchange of work strategies; dialogue about the political housing; the cooperation of country programs and the mobilization of resources. |
Both organizations established a work plan that includes activities for the development of the organization, the strengthening of their capacities or resources and to promote a joined effort in advocacy.
Starting with this work in union, Habitat for Humanity Chile comes supporting the quality certification process that the national office in Paraguay has proposed to achieve at the end of 2009.
This support is being given due to the experience that the office in Chile has gained. Recently, they have been certified with the new 2008 norm of the Quality Certification 9001-2008. Also this office (based in Santiago, Chile), has recently expanded the quantity certification in other offices within the country.
Habitat for Humanity Chile has collaborated with the organization for a forum to address the issue of social housing. Architect Luis Santibañez is also providing support through his immense experience.
Most recently, an International Internship took place in Chile which brought together several different Habitat groups: “An International Exchange of experiences in governmental subsidies for housing-SGpV ”(letters that stand for the governmental assistantship in housing constructions in Chile) with the participation of Habitat delegates from Brazil, Paraguay, and Chile, along with the non-profit organization JUNDEP and Habitat for Humanity Chile staff members. The event was performed from September 28th to October the 2nd, 2009.
