On September 2008, Habitat for Humanity Paraguay celebrates 10 years of local presence with the release of the event called: “Faith + Hope + Action = 5 Houses in 5 days”. This event’s major goal is to is to reach the objective to build these five houses in five days and from there, enforce our local presence by changing lives and families in Paraguay.
This is possible thanks to the partnership with the Proyecto para el Pueblo del Paraguay (PPP), in English “Project for the People of Paraguay”, founded in 1992 by Mike and Sheri Bitzan, a family in Central Minnesota, USA. When they adopted a Paraguayan child, they begun to understand the poor living conditions in Paraguay. The suburban neighborhoods around Asuncion have many lack of resources such as basic services, people on the streets with bad nutrition and houses with a favorable environment for several diseases. Thus, PPP decided to contribute with this event by buying the lands and covering the costs of the houses for the 10th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity Paraguay
