Global Village Program Habitat for Humanity International, is a building-trip, in this case bound for Paraguay, with a group of people who make up a brigade. The 1 to 2 weeks trip, is designed to make an educational, spiritual and cultural experience.

The brigades can be open groups, whose entries are made online at the website of HFHI, or closed, formed by groups of schools, churches, friends, relatives etc.

Everyone can participate in this program who reside in any country in the world. Starting from 16 years old with no age limits.

Yes you can participate, integrating a brigade or forming a group, as Team Leader.

Each brigade is represented by a Leader or Team Leader, which calls for volunteers to sign up through Habitat for Humanity International. Available groups are published 6 months before the trip.

Each volunteer will receive registered progress in planning the trip through the brigade leader.

Habitat for Humanity has a National Office based in Asunción, capital of Paraguay. A team coordinator is responsible for the permanent support of the brigades during their stay in the country, as well as giving guidance for all travel arrangements.

The activities scheduled are focused on providing support to Paraguayan families in housing and adequate experience through co-existence and participation of cultural, social reality in the country.

All informations related to the trip to Paraguay, like accommodation, food, security, services, recommendations, are provided in detail before traveling.

Since Habitat for Humanity began its work in Paraguay (1998) about 1,500 international volunteers arrived in the country.

The cost of the trip depends on the number of travel days. For example, a 10-day trip requires an investment of approximately USD. 1.410.

This investment includes a donation to the revolving fund for Habitat for Humanity Paraguay, which allows families to grant interest-free loans to build their homes. It also includes: meals, lodging, transportation, trip cancellation insurance and all the support and guidance materials in Paraguay. It does not include airfare, airport taxes and paperwork done.

There is no need for any previous experience or expertise on construction. All instructions will be received at the place of work. Participants who have some technical skills can work in more specialized tasks.

In the construction of housing solutions volunteers work as assistants for the masons, assist with the preparation of cement or concrete, material moving, digging septic systems, cleaning and painting of walls.

At least 6 months before the arrival in Paraguay.

Having completed the team leader workshop at Habitat for Humanity International or the National Bureau of Habitat. This requirement is necessary for all squad leaders. Check with the Office of Habitat for Humanity in your region or country of origin.
