I decided to join HABITAT because I consider this is a great way to help and to collaborate with people with housing needs, and I believe this will be a wonderful challenge for my professional development focus on Social Projects.

I had the opportunity to participate in a exchange program for one year in the USA and it had a positive impact on my life. I believe the opportunity to visit and know other countries is of great value because it can offer personal growth, perspective, build relationships, and better understanding of cultural differences. In other words, the
connections you make with people from other countries allows you to become flexible and offers the unique chance to give to others what you can.

Day by day, with accomplishment and challenges, my goal is to integrate and make this experience a real model for my life from now on.

Working for the last 5 years in an internet agency in Germany led to a point where I decided to take a sabbatical and do something more substantial. Habitat was my first choice because I am able to work as an architect, my first profession and give as much of my knowledge to an idea I strongly believe in. Giving shelter and a place to live in for me was always a right that is important to fight for.

My work with Habitat involves me in the supervision of the sites and taking care of the volunteers. In the last month I met a lot of outstanding people and I will miss working on the sites with volunteers and families when I will head back to Germany at the end of the year.
