Common Sense Personal Security
Paraguayans are hospitable, friendly and helpful people, but like everywhere there are black sheep giving tourists a hard time. But if you keep some things in mind, there shouldn´t be problems:
- use the “buddy” system and don´t walk around on your own
- be aware of your surroundings
- keep your bags closed and be aware of pickpockets
- take only as much cash with you, that you will need for the day
- have small change at hand for buses, souvenirs or other cheap items
- leave most of your cash and other valuables in the safe at the hotel
- don´t wear valuable or valuable looking jewellery
