A typical building week

Day 1  (typically Saturday)
  • Depart your home country
 
Day 2 Sunday- Arrival day 
  • Greeted at the airport in Asuncion by Habitat Paraguay  staff member 
  • Transfer to Lodging 
  • Orientation 
  • Dinner 
  • Rest and settle
 
Day 3-7 Work days (Monday-Friday)
  • Breakfast served before traveling to worksite
  • Welcome ceremony (first day) with families and Habitat staff
  • Work from 8am-4pm with lunch on site or at the Hotel 
  • Free time after work to clean up
  • Dinner
  • Time for team activities
 
Day 8 Farewell and Cultural Activities  
  • Breakfast served before traveling to worksite
  • Cultural Activity
  • Farewell event 
  • Dinner
  • Time for team activities
 
Special events throughout the week
  • Cultural experiences with host program staff, such as traditional dance, cook traditional food, terere and mate (traditional no-alcoholic drinks)
  • City Tour, shopping handcraft, sightseeing (Paraguayan lace)
  • Visit orphanage/foster home
  • Visit the homeowner existing home
  • Transport to a soccer match at stadium
  • Farewell ceremony

  • Free time after work to clean up
  • Dinner at lodging or recommended place
  • Half Day of work on Saturday
  • Time for team activities

  • Church service in the morning
 
Day 10-12 Work days (Monday-Wednesday)
  • Breakfast served before traveling to worksite
  • Work from 8am-4pm with lunch on site or at the Hotel
  • Free time after work to clean up
 
 
Day 13: Thursday
  • Cultural activity 
  • Shopping
  • Farewell ceremony at the site
  • Dinner 
  • Free time for the group 
 
Day 14: Friday- Final day
  • Departure day
 
The GV trip cost includes: 
  1. Donation to the Habitat host program and HFHI
  2. Meals
  3. Accommodations 
  4. Transport (excluding airfare) 
  5. Medical emergency evacuation insurance
  6. Team coordination assistance from HFHI and hosting program and orientation materials
  7. Some local cultural activities may be included
  8. NOTE: The trip cost does not include airfare Trip cancellation insurance , R&R activities, and visa and exit fees (not applicable for all destinations).
  9. The trip cost may vary based on the addition of the team leader’s trip cost and/or airfare to the trip budget.
