Carmiña Romero (31) is a persistent woman. With her husband, despite several difficulties, they have managed to expand and improve their poor housing conditions.  The live in the neighborhood of Villa Costa Romero, in Benjamin Aceval.

A year ago, they acquired land and constructed it so that the couple could share it with their children Josue (14) and Iveth (1) There was also one bedroom and dining kitchen. "It was impossible to live well," says Carmine.
When they received the materials from Habitat for Humanity, the construction immediately began by adding a room to the home, improving the conditions of which they already had by adding a nice bathroom and enabling the family to "fulfill a dream, because now we live better and paying for a home that is ours. There are no words to express the great change that Habitat gave to our lives".

Richard Nunez is married and has a young daughter, Fatima, almost 2 years. The family lived in Richard’s mother-in-law house.  But with their new daughter was difficult to live with the family as there was only one bedroom and they shared a bathroom.
"Since 2003 we wanted our house and after few years we became familiar with Habitat and presented our application in March 2008.  We then began construction in December.  Now we have moved, the house is complete, and only the thing that is missing are windows and doors. I thank Habitat for giving me the opportunity to have my own house".

Hugo Morel is head of household and father of 7 children, 2 of which are still under his responsibility.

"My experience with Habitat was excellent.  From the first day, they cared for us very well. We are very pleased to have its presence in our country, to help people like me, who have not been able to find the necessary support to fulfill a dream by building a house with dignity".

Mirtha Vidallet has a child in their care. Thanks to Habitat volunteers, The family built a home with an indoor bathroom that they previously did not have.

"Before it was impossible to build, because the costs were so high, along with the interest that other places charge. We're thankful for Habitat and the volunteers for giving us a push and a more dignified life".

Nicolasa Jara, is married and has 3 children.

"We miss the volunteers very much and we hope someday they can return to Paraguay. We are very grateful for the support, and with that we were able to build our home in 15 days. Today, we are already installed and very happy! Thank you very much Habitat for allowing us to have a safe place to live. "

After 3 months of having filled the application, this young couple started building their home with the help of international volunteers. Habitat also provided materials and technical advice. They completed the work in record time.

"We do not know how to thank the support that Habitat gave so that we could believe that being poor does not deprive us of having a home safe, a well built home, or a place to raise our children."

Family of Posteguillo Cnel. Oviedo lived in a room that had precarious conditions.

"Habitat did not disappoint us. We built our house and now everyone has the room. Other people like me, I tell them not to lose hope, and those who support Habitat, I invite you to continue to help this cause so that other families are also able to live with dignity. "

Javier Ledesma is married and has a young daughter of 2 years. Before, the family lived in the same place where Javier also worked (a turnery workshop). For many years he tried to change this, but found no support.

"With Habitat, all was efficient, fast, and I managed to receive what I failed to do in 10 years, a house for my family. The place where we lived was not healthy.  I looked for a solution until Habitat contacted me. Now I’m pleased that our home was completed and I hope that hope that Habitat for Humanity in Paraguay will continue to help many more families, like mine”.

Víctor Darío Ramírez is married and until recently lived at home with their in-laws. Still do not have children.

"Now that we have our house, we can see how different it is to have a place on our own. We are very happy and we thank Habitat, without its help we would not have had what we now call our home".
